The Christian Conduct of Corinthians

As we have been reading through the second letter to the Corinthian Church, we have been coming across and experiencing the opposition that the Apostle Paul was receiving.

Ranging from the issues of his authority, false teachings, and today we discover the root of it all, false teachers. Here is what Paul had to share concerning them:

Read 2 Corinthians 11:12-15.

These false apostles were undermining the truth, seeking glory for themselves, working deceitfully yet disguising themselves in righteousness.

And that there is the problem.

Paul refers to them as behaving like Satan, clothing themselves with the appearance of light, and that is why they are so dangerous.

Their deceit and true goals aren’t easily seen, and therefore are able to fool many who come under their spell of lies.

From innocent “truths”, bending God’s commands ever so slightly, to taking advantage of the saints, it is up to you as a child of God and worker of truth to recognize and expose these false apostles and teachers for what they are.

You can do this by simply knowing the truth, identifying the fruit they produce, and being sensitive to the Holy Spirit’s lead.

This is more important than we can possibly know so that their lies don’t take root in not only you, but the entire Church.

Therefore, be on the lookout and weary of false apostles and teachers, they’re out there!

Christian

Since coming to faith as a young college student, God’s lead has taken me around the world and back. Today, my passion is clearer than ever; my heart hurts for the lost, but it burns for the Church. My deepest desire is to equip the Church to be the body, working together to see people’s lives be redeemed in the name of Jesus. My name is Christian and my wife, Emily and I have been married for 6 years and have a little one named Amelia. Together, we’re fully committed to following Jesus to where ever He leads us.
