The Christian Conduct of Corinthians

“”What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he has lost one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the open country, and go after the one that is lost, until he finds it? And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.”
-Luke 15:4-5

When a sheep goes astray, God cares.

When one of His children and disciples wander, Jesus goes to great lengths to gain them back.

But what about when we knowingly and intentionally sin, unrepenting and without conviction?

What then?

Read 2 Corinthians 13:1-4.

As your Shepherd who leads you in paths of righteousness, you can expect that Jesus isn’t going to allow sin to continue uninhibited in your life.

Whether accidental sin, old habits, or totally unrepentant sin that you refuse to give up, if you’re following Jesus, you can expect that He will lead you out of it, whether gently or sternly if need be.

The Apostle Paul is warning us that unrepentant sin will not be tolerated but will be resolved either by our willingness to obey, or by the power of Jesus’ firm hand leading us out of it.

Today, knowing full well the consequences and that Jesus won’t be weak with handling you, is there any sin in your life that you are holding onto and are unrepentant of?

Let it go, repent, and humble yourself under His mighty hand that is upon you.

Turn away from it and ask Him to remove it from you and take the steps to repent in the name of Jesus Christ.

This is for your own good, therefore continue to follow Jesus, cleansed of all unrighteousness, and stand clean before the Lord your God!

Christian

Since coming to faith as a young college student, God’s lead has taken me around the world and back. Today, my passion is clearer than ever; my heart hurts for the lost, but it burns for the Church. My deepest desire is to equip the Church to be the body, working together to see people’s lives be redeemed in the name of Jesus. My name is Christian and my wife, Emily and I have been married for 6 years and have a little one named Amelia. Together, we’re fully committed to following Jesus to where ever He leads us.
