The Christian Conduct of Corinthians

Are there things that you carry each day of your life that weigh you down?

Whether it be baggage from your past to health issues and even temptation to sin?

It doesn’t take long in this life for all of us to come to an understanding of pain and suffering, does it?

Afterall, that’s simply part of the human experience, right?

Even the Apostle Paul, despite his prominence and pedigree, knew the human experience well and was acquainted with the same suffering as we do, and the Lord gave him a word that speaks for us all:

Read 2 Corinthians 12:1-10.

As people, being only human, we all have various forms of “thorns” that we struggle with from day to day.

Things that humble us, make us realize just how frail we are.

Often, we try to hide such weaknesses, overcompensate, and puff ourselves up so others consider us better than we are.

But in the Kingdom of God, weakness is strength.

Just as our Lord shared with Paul when He said, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”, we too can stand strong, embracing our weakness knowing that in our humility, God’s power in us can truly shine.

So today, are you okay with being weak? Are you okay with walking in humility?

Are you content with hardships, weaknesses, and persecution if it means that Jesus will shine through you even more?

In your humility and weakness is when the strength of God comes alive, therefore humble yourself, and follow Him no matter what experiences life has in store for you and know that it isn’t you, but Christ in you that will provide you the strength you need to endure and thrive.

Christian

Since coming to faith as a young college student, God’s lead has taken me around the world and back. Today, my passion is clearer than ever; my heart hurts for the lost, but it burns for the Church. My deepest desire is to equip the Church to be the body, working together to see people’s lives be redeemed in the name of Jesus. My name is Christian and my wife, Emily and I have been married for 6 years and have a little one named Amelia. Together, we’re fully committed to following Jesus to where ever He leads us.
