The Christian Conduct of Corinthians

What if someone told you that following Jesus is the most difficult thing you’ll ever do?

Have you ever given Jesus’ words about counting the cost of following Him any thought to what they might mean?

Take a few minutes to read through today’s passage from the Apostle Paul concerning his own walk with Jesus and see if you can relate:

Read 2 Corinthians 11:16-33.

If you had to live through any or all of these experiences of Paul, would you still follow Jesus?

If you were an unbeliever who was interested in following Jesus and someone told you that you would someday have to experience these various forms of suffering, would you still say “yes” and follow Him anyway?

These questions very well might not matter to you, and never will, but are nonetheless important to consider all the same.

Think on these things and your own faith, and ask yourself, “is Jesus worth it?

For the truth is, our world might not always look the same, our freedoms might disappear into thin air and persecution might someday come again, and we as a Church need to be prepared for that.

Therefore, think on these things in prayer and ask the Lord concerning your faith and how strong and ready it is for the days that may be quickly approaching.

And then stand strong and follow Jesus!

“For which of you, desiring to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost, whether he has enough to complete it? Otherwise, when he has laid a foundation and is not able to finish, all who see it begin to mock him, saying, ‘This man began to build and was not able to finish.’”
-Luke 14:28-30

Christian

Since coming to faith as a young college student, God’s lead has taken me around the world and back. Today, my passion is clearer than ever; my heart hurts for the lost, but it burns for the Church. My deepest desire is to equip the Church to be the body, working together to see people’s lives be redeemed in the name of Jesus. My name is Christian and my wife, Emily and I have been married for 6 years and have a little one named Amelia. Together, we’re fully committed to following Jesus to where ever He leads us.
