The Christian Conduct of Corinthians

Imagine being married to someone who believes something entirely different than you do.

You believe in Jesus, and they do not.

Imagine how you will make decisions with one another, or how you will determine your goals, priorities, and your finances?

Imagine trying to parent children with a Biblical foundation but your spouse opposing you and even working against your efforts to lead them toward the Lord?

Do you really think a marriage such as that would work?

Read 2 Corinthians 6:14-18.

Like oil and water, the Spirit of God that dwells in you shouldn’t be united to that which isn’t holy.

This may sound harsh, but who are you to think you can change someone’s heart?

Now understand, if you are already unequally yoked, the Lord has wisdom to share on this as well, and no matter what, you are called to shine brightly and declare the holiness of the Lord.

But if you aren’t already married, then think wisely on these things, give ear to the Lord, and reflect upon those who have made this mistake before you.

Learn from those of the past such as King Solomon and make the decision to not be unequally yoked but rather seek a spouse who loves the Lord just as you do.

This wisdom is far more valuable than you could ever imagine, and you certainly won’t regret it.

Christian

Since coming to faith as a young college student, God’s lead has taken me around the world and back. Today, my passion is clearer than ever; my heart hurts for the lost, but it burns for the Church. My deepest desire is to equip the Church to be the body, working together to see people’s lives be redeemed in the name of Jesus. My name is Christian and my wife, Emily and I have been married for 6 years and have a little one named Amelia. Together, we’re fully committed to following Jesus to where ever He leads us.
